Our experience in talking about ideas that are considered innovative does not always help to solve problems, often innovation only becomes excessive engineering and almost becomes something "useless".
But we are not tired to keep trying and trying the challenges that we consider to be a tidal wave that we must conquer, especially in the era of Smart Industrial with the presence of IoT solutions regarding manufacturers, mining, safety workforce, wearables and artificial intelligence.
This IoT makers challenge provides opportunities for developers from startups, system integrators, and academic institutions to solve current business challenges faced by businesses, along with the best partners. We are looking for innovators to bring their ideas, generate the best IoT solutions for businesses and implement in Indonesia as well as to bring them to the market in Telkomsel Innovation Center.
Over the past 5 years the Internet of Things (IoT) in Indonesia has increasingly become a discussion as well as the most sought-after solution by experts and individual and enterprise end-users.
The use of sensors and automation with remote control through applications is an unavoidable demand. This is in line with the government's vision in advancing Industry 4.0
In order for the Indonesian IoT industry to develop and provide the right solution, the IoT maker challenge by the Telkomsel Innovation Center recruits teams to design and develop IoT solutions to achieve this result. This year, we challenge you to choose one of below challenges and design and develop the right IoT solution to overcome it.
1. How might we monitor health indicators to prevent work accidents in the industrial sector by using IoT?
The industrial sector is one of the sectors that contributes greatly to Indonesia's gross domestic product and employment in Indonesia. However, there are problems such as worker’s fatigue due to overtime and work accidents such as fire incidents, incidents of improper use of work tools that still need to be resolved. Is it possible for IoT technology to be used in monitoring health indicators to prevent work accidents in the industrial sector?
2. How might we monitor the energy efficiency by using IoT in the industrial sector?
Manufacturing industry needs energy in running the production process and the business. When the industry uses huge amount of energy, of course it will give impact on the financial burden to handle by the industry. This case is commonly found in the manufacturing industries that have operated for long time and used the old engines, so these consumes high amount of energy. By using the available sensors to get the information of energy usage in an industrial engine, is it possible for the IoT technology to detect the amount of energy efficiency used by the engine in each manufacturing industry?
3. How can we optimise the productivity of production lines by using IoT in the industrial sector?
The variety of products that is produced and the various components used by the industry have an impact on the length of production lines used in the production process. The longer the production line, the more complex the process is, and the more difficult to identify the problem if there is an error occurs. In addition, it is very possible to experience an engine damage in the industry due to the engine itself has an age limit in operation. If there is an engine’s damage to the machine, it can cause downtime which results in business losses. With various sensors available to obtain information related to the condition of industrial machinery, is it possible for IoT technology to be used to optimise the productivity of production lines by using IoT in the industrial sector?

InnOvaTe - Industrial IOT Innovation with Telkomsel is a national innovation competi-tion that is presented by Telkomsel Innovation Center (TINC), Telkomsel’s incubator. Under the theme of industrial IOT innovation, InnOvaTe puts talented technology developers (in hardware and software) and the other participants from various sector together to develop possible technology that is beneficial for industry in 24 hours hacking marathon. In this event, TINC partners with the Ministry of Industry, Indone-sia Association of IOT, Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Innovesia and Makedonia as well as gets supports from IOT Innovation Lab, InnoXtion and Con-nectinc.

Telkomsel will not cover any cost of participants’ participation, whether it is transpor-tation cost, accommodation cost or any cost that is spent by the participants. Telkomsel’s committee will only provide meals and facilities during the series of event related to InnOvaTe - Industrial IOT Innovation with Telkomsel.
In InnOvaTe - Industrial IOT Innovation with Telkomsel, you can register by team. The number of members allowed in one team is a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 people. That means you and your maximum of 2 friends can register as a team.
Please bring your mobile phone, your laptop or any other computer that you use and any technology that inspires you. We will support with a few tool and development board/module. In addition, please bring a change of clothes, necessary medicines and other equipment that makes you comfortable but will not disturb the other partic-ipants.
The final result of InnOvaTe - Industrial IoT Innovation with Telkomsel hack day com-petition and all changes/adjustment will become Telkomsel's rights that can be uti-lised in accordance with applicable provisions for further development in the future.
We hope you will develop a prototype that will represent your idea. There will be a demo of the prototype you made. There should be no slide-deck or powerpoint in the final presentation. The final presentation is limited to a 5 minute of explanation with possible Q&A with the judges.
Telkomsel provides cash prizes as well as further development of incubation prod-ucts for winners. The winner is entitled to get cash worth Rp. 50,000,000. The run-ner up winner is entitled to get cash worth Rp. 30,000,000 and the third winner has the right to get cash worth Rp. 20,000,000. In addition, the winners had the opportunity to directly participate in the TINC (Telkomsel Innovation Center) incubation program with various benefits including:
